Temporary Payroll Administrator

A growing client of Ledgent, a Roth Staffing company is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to help them out temporarily, with the potential for long-term employment. This company is growing, very collaborative and they have a welcoming culture. The Temporary Payroll Administrator will play a key role by spearheading payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for their valued staff, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the business. This role requires strong multi-state, end-to-end payroll processing skills. Attention to detail is of hte utmost importance!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle weekly payroll processing for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Validate the accuracy of timesheets, hours worked, benefit deductions, and other payroll data; flag and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Partner with Finance and HR teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and benefits analysis with payroll data insights.
  • Audit weekly payroll and revenue-generating data to identify discrepancies, cost drivers, and areas of concern
  • Assist in the reconciliation of payroll-related general ledger accounts and resolve variances.
  • Respond to employee inquiries with professionalism, providing clear and timely guidance on payroll issues.
  • Continuously improve payroll processes by identifying areas for automation, accuracy improvements, or enhanced reporting.

What our ideal candidate looks like:

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (at minimum, pivot tables and v/xlookup)
  • Proven experience in payroll processing.
  • Experience with various payroll software and systems.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and payroll regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday) and proficiency in Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate payroll data to non-technical stakeholders.

Compensatoin: $35-$42/hr
